There is a nice path through the woods. We cycled it which is relatively short. It leads out into a beach with very few people so it is perfect if you want some privacy.

Amazing beach, best in Munster. Very long, clean sand, easy to find quiet place and spend all day long. Also very nice Forrest walk, almost flat, average 2-3 hours, recommended return on the beach...

One of the gems in Wexford's crown, the Raven is a long spit of forested sand between the reclaimed north slobs and the sea. One of the few remaining habitats exclusive to the red squirrel, walk the longest circuit and through an entire thicket of monkey puzzles out onto the sand spit that sets the northern limit of Wexford harbour. No matter how busy the car park at the Gap after a while walking there is plenty of space for everybody. Kids and pets alike will love leaving the main track and following the multitude of tracks up and down forested dunes.

One of the most beautiful walks in the region, through a old forest ood Irish Pines. The walk, there and back, is about 2 hours long, walking casually. The Irish Pine forest Is situated on a long sandy spit of land, full of high sand dunes. On the seaward side of the forest walk is a beautiful beach nearly always to yourself, where you can observe hundreds of seals at low tide on the offshore sandy islets near the end of the spit. Also very good for sea birds. On the landward side is a very rich fertile reclaimed land, excellent for the endemic Irish Hare and thousands of birds, particularly in winter, and especially for the Greenland white-fronted geese, the world stronghold for the species. A great walk for those who love nature.

The Raven offers a unique adventure, you can walk through the forest which leads through tree lined paths with benches placed along the trail should you wish to rest or eat. I made my way along the trail and it was longer than I expected, about 6klm approx out and the same back when suddenly the path opened up and there was the most magnificent white sandy beech, clear blue water and views to die for. On the day I was there myself and a young family were the only people on the beech, fishing boats were bobbing about in the clear blue water and I saw a great number of cormorants gathered together on the waters edge. I took photos and video footage so I would never forget the view as I came through the trees and onto the beech. If you find yourself in Wexford, please take a trip down to the raven because I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed. Great place to walk, take photos, picnic or play with the kids on the white sand. I'm definitely going back in the summer. Enjoy
